Video Visits
We provide Video Visits!
We utilize the UCSF MyChart to enable Video Visits (telehealth). Please download the UCSF MyChart app to your phone or sign in on your computer. You will need to establish yourself as proxy for your child to enter his/her chart. For prenatal interviews, we use Zoom.
Video Visits will allow you and your child to see the doctor without leaving your home or while you’re away from the Bay Area but still in the state of California.
Not all visits will be appropriate for Video Visits. During Video Visits we cannot do vital signs, track growth, give vaccines or do our vision and hearing screens and our physical exam is limited to what we can see.
Having said that, there is a lot we can do! We can see a child and help determine if they are sick enough to require an in-person visit or an emergency room trip. We can discuss behavioral and mental health issues. We can do medication management and some follow-up visits. We can provide developmental and anticipatory guidance.
Video Visits are considered health care visits and are billed to your insurance just as in-person visits are. Copayments, coinsurance and deductible requirements of your insurance plan will apply. Most insurance plan benefits do include coverage for Video Visits the same way in-person office visits are covered, but some may not. Those instances of non-coverage will be addressed on an individual basis.
If you would like to schedule a Video Visit or to convert your currently scheduled office visit to a Video Visit, call our office and our team can help assess whether it’s appropriate for your child’s needs.
